For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and do not return there, but water the earth, and make it bring forth and bud, That it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater, So shall my word be that goes forth from my mouth; It shall not return to me void, but it shall accomplish what i please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which i sent it.
This is called ministering to Jesus. I didn’t see it at first.
He gives us the word not so we can preach it, but so that we can be wise with it. As we pray and declare the word that God has spoken back to God, we are agreeing in our heart with his heart. This is the place where we gain wealth in our hearts. Its the place where purity springs forth like the rivers of living water. The place of the washing of the word!
He is longing for friends, not for work horses. He wants to talk with you and share his heart with you. That is “the thing for which He sent it”….this is what pleases his heart more than anything. Once he makes you into that man or woman of budding virtues, which can only happen in his presence, he will entrust you with the seeds for sowing and the bread for eating.
This is the good part! This is the one thing! Oh you who have no money! Will you come, buy and eat?
Your thoughts define me. Abba, i belong to you.
Jesus invites anyone and everyone to be great in His kingdom by walking in the Beatitudes.
19 Whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments…shall be called least in the kingdom…whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom. (Mt. 5:19)
We cannot repent of the desire for greatness because God designed our spirit with this longing. We repent for seeking it in a wrong way. Without the paradigm of being on a journey to greatness, the Sermon on the Mount lifestyle is more difficult to sustain. God invites us to greatness without regard for outward achievements or the size of our ministry. It is based on the development of our heart in love, purity, and humility, and in understanding the Word.
that’s a good solid truth
28 “Now take Aaron your brother, and his sons with him, from among the children of Israel, that he may minister to Me as priest, Aaron and Aaron’s sons: Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar. 2 And you shall make holy garments for Aaron your brother, for glory and for beauty. 3 So you shall speak to all who are gifted artisans, whom I have filled with the spirit of wisdom, that they may make Aaron’s garments, to consecrate him, that he may minister to Me as priest.
I want to make art that causes people to minister to God. For Beauty and for Glory.
